Two teachers in the Tustin Unified School District have a sweet tooth for game shows. Ladera Elementary School first-grade teachers Sara Blair and Theresa Goldenberg will appear on the TV game show, “Candy Crush,” this Sunday night (August 27). The show will air at 9 p.m. on CBS Channel 2.
“Candy Crush,” hosted by Mario Lopez, is based on the popular mobile game. Teams of two people use their wits and physical agility to compete on enormous, interactive game boards featuring next generation technology to conquer “Candy Crush” and be crowned the champions. The winning team receives a $100,000 cash prize.
Sara and Theresa auditioned for “Candy Crush” and were selected to compete against other two-member teams. The program was taped last spring, but the teachers only found out this week they will be seen on Sunday’s program. During the show, the teachers wore their Ladera shirts and gave a shout-out to the Tustin community.
This is not the first game show for Sara and Theresa. Both teachers were on “Let’s Make a Deal” a few years ago – Sara won a new car and Theresa was the winner of a game room set, featuring a pinball machine, karaoke machine and iPod touch. Sara also tried out for “The Match Game,” hosted by Alec Baldwin.
“We are so excited our show airs on Sunday night,” Theresa said. “We are representing Ladera and TUSD!”
Did the teachers crush the competition? You’ll have to tune in Sunday night!
