Patty Ellis
School Secretary, Helen Estock Elementary School
Patty Ellis, school secretary at Helen Estock Elementary School, has been selected as the 2017 Classified Employee of the Year by the Tustin Unified School District. Patty has worked in the District for 16 years. She has gone “above and beyond” for the students and staff at Estock School. She takes great pride in her work, makes sure everyone is welcome when they come through the front office door, and is always available to support the staff and help the students. Additionally, Patty spent many hours at night and weekends to ensure a smooth transition for Lambert students and families when they merged with Estock last fall.
TUSD Superintendent Dr. Gregory Franklin made the announcement on Monday, April 17, at Estock School. He was joined by Board Members Jonathan Abelove and Francine Scinto, Principal Wendy Hudson, District Office administrators and representatives from the Tustin Public Schools Foundation.
The 20th annual awards program recognizes classified or support services employees whose contributions to TUSD have proven to be outstanding. The award is given to a classified employee who provides valuable services to schools and staff, contributes to a positive instructional environment, and goes above and beyond their job requirements.
Patty and all school/work site nominees will be honored at the “Classified Celebration at the Courtyard,” a special recognition ceremony to be held at 5 p.m. Monday, May 15, in the courtyard at the District Office, 300 South C Street, Tustin. A reception will begin at 4:30 p.m. Family, friends and co-workers are invited. Special invitations will be given to each school or work site nominee.
Congratulations to Patty and all the nominees!
