TUSD Seeks Applicants for Measure S Citizens’ Oversight Committee
The Tustin Unified School District is seeking applicants for its Measure S Citizens’ Oversight Committee. The 2019-20 Measure S Citizens’ Oversight Committee will begin meeting in late September.
The TUSD Board of Education appoints members to a committee to inform the public regarding the expenditure of Measure S proceeds to upgrade classrooms, science labs, equipment and instructional technology. Measure S is the District’s $135 million bond measure that passed in November 2012.
The committee currently has four open positions – a community member as an at-large representative, a person active in a business organization, a parent/guardian active in a parent-teacher organization or school site council, and an active member of a bona-fide taxpayers organization. Each member’s term consists of two years.
The oversight committee also engages in activities such as reviewing performance and financial audits, inspecting school facilities and discussing the measure’s impact on instruction.
Individuals interested in serving on the TUSD Measure S Citizens’ Oversight Committee can visit the TUSD Website at http://www.tustin.k12.ca.us/departments/admin-services/measure-s-technology-bond to obtain an application. All applications must be returned to the Assistant Superintendent, Administrative Services, at the District Administration Center, 300 South C St., Tustin, by 4 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 16.
