Tustin Unified Hosts Virtual Magnet and Programs Night

The Tustin Unified School District will host its second annual Magnet and Programs Night for prospective elementary, middle and high school families.  The event will be held virtually on Thursday, December 3, from 6 to 7:50 p.m.  Tustin Unified schools offer a variety of magnet and other programs focused on different areas of interest.  As a complement to traditional course work, magnet and other programs provide students with an innovative learning experience while allowing them to pursue their unique interests.  These programs include:

• Kindergarten Readiness at various school sites (PreK)
• Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math (STEAM) at Heritage Elementary School (grades TK-5)
• Gifted and Talented Education (GATE) at Tustin Memorial Academy (K-5)
• Global, Media Arts and Communication (including Spanish Dual Language Immersion) at Sycamore Magnet Academy (TK-8)
• Pre-International Baccalaureate Magnet at Columbus Tustin Middle School (6-8)
• Blended Learning at Tustin Connect (K-12)
• Technology, Innovation, Design and Entrepreneurship (TIDE) at Legacy Magnet Academy (6-10 in 2021-22, adding 11th grade in 2022-23 and adding 12th grade in 2023-24)
• Career Technical Education (CTE) and various programs at TUSD middle schools (6-8) and high schools (9-12)

The event will begin with a virtual welcome and overview, then parents and students will have the opportunity to virtually attend up to three breakout sessions hosted by the specific school programs they are most interested in.  RSVP is required to attend the event.  Please RSVP by visiting http://bit.ly/TUSDmagnetRSVP no later than December 2.

In order to attend one of the programs (listed above) in the 2021-22 school year at a school other than your homeschool, parents must apply through the TUSD transfer process.  Transfer applications are available online at www.tustin.k12.ca.us for parents to apply.  If you need assistance with applying online, contact the Student Transfer Office at (714) 730-7301, ext. 51317, or visit the office, 14741 North B Street, Tustin.  The transfer window will open on Monday, January 11, at 8 a.m. and close on Friday, January 29, at 3 p.m.  Applicants will then be notified by email as to the status of their application.  If you have any questions, contact the Transfer Office by sending an email to transfers@mytusd.org or calling (714) 730-7301, ext. 51317.

El Distrito Escolar Unificado de Tustin Organiza una Noche Virtual de Programas y Magnet

El Distrito Escolar Unificado de Tustin llevará a cabo su segunda Noche de Programas y Magnet anual para las posibles familias de escuelas primarias, secundarias y preparatorias.  El evento se realizará virtualmente el jueves, 3 de diciembre de 6 a 7:50 p.m.  Las escuelas del Distrito Escolar Unificado de Tustin ofrecen una variedad de programas Magnet y otros programas enfocados en diferentes áreas de interés.  Como complemento al trabajo de curso tradicional, Magnet y otros programas ofrecen a los alumnos una experiencia de aprendizaje innovadora mientras persiguen sus intereses únicos.  Estos programas incluyen:

• Preparación para Kindergarten en varias escuelas (Preescolar)
• Ciencia, Tecnología, Ingeniería, Artes y Matemáticas (STEAM) en la Escuela Primaria Heritage (TK a 5^o grado)
• Educación para Dotados y Talentosos (GATE) en Tustin Memorial Academy (K a 5^o grado)
• Conciencia Global, Artes Mediáticas y Comunicación (incluyendo Inmersión Bilingüe en español) en Sycamore Magnet Academy (TK a 8^o grado)
• Pre-Bachillerato Internacional en la Escuela Secundaria Columbus Tustin (6^o a 8^o grado)
• Aprendizaje Combinado en Tustin Connect (K a 12^o grado)
• Tecnología, Innovación, Diseño e Iniciativa Empresarial (TIDE) en Legacy Magnet Academy (6^o a 10^o grado en 2021-22, añadiendo 11^o grado en 2022-23 y añadiendo 12^o grado en 2023-24)
• Educación de Carrera Técnica (CTE) y varios programas en las escuelas secundarias (6^o a 8^o grado) y escuelas preparatorias (9^o a 12^o grado) del TUSD
