Looking for some great entertainment? The Tustin Unified School District is presenting the 2020 Elementary and Secondary Virtual Film Festivals, beginning today.
In lieu of TUSD’s yearly festival held in May, the District is hosting a digital festival to recognize the hard work and creativity of its students. There will be two separate virtual film festivals online — elementary (TK through fifth-grade students) at 4 p.m. and secondary (sixth through 12th-grade students) at 6:30 p.m.
If you miss the 4 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. showings, not to worry – both festivals will be available for viewing anytime during the weekend and next week.
The TK-5 Film Festival categories include Best Acting, Best Animation, Best Comedy, Best Editing, Best Script, Most Creative Storyline, Most Creative Use of Props, Most Inspirational and others. For viewing, go to Film Festival Showcase Information and Links.
The categories for the Secondary Film Challenge (narrative or documentary genre) are Best Actor and Best Actress, Best Cinematography, Best Director, Best Documentary, Best Editing, Best Narrative Film and Best Film from each school site. To watch the films, visit https://youtu.be/_ZAH2SNhQfE.
The TK-5 festival was coordinated by teacher on special assignment (TOSA) Courtney Smith and Connect Coach Monica Wyman, and the 6-12 festival was organized by TOSA Jonny Parker and Connect Coach Gia Meade.
“We hope the Tustin Unified community enjoys the virtual showcase of amazing work from our talented students,” said festival co-coordinator Jonny Parker.
