The Tustin Unified School District will celebrate National School Nurse Day on Wednesday, May 9.
During this day, students and staff will recognize the efforts of registered nurses who practice in the school setting and the importance of school health programs.
“We appreciate our compassionate and dedicated team of school nurses,” TUSD Superintendent Dr. Gregory Franklin said. “Thank you for taking care of our students, employees and community.”
School health services provided by nurses include health counseling, immunizations, infectious disease control, health screening, health assessments, medical treatments for chronic health problems, emergency care and crisis intervention. School nurses also offer services in special education and teach health education to students, school staff and parents.
