Robert Heideman Elementary School, in partnership with Argumentation and Communication Leadership Academy (ACLA), is holding its second annual Invitational Speech and Debate Tournament on Saturday, Dec. 1 from 7:45 a.m. to 5:45 p.m. at the school, 15571 Williams St.
The theme of the tournament is “Innovation” where students will explore how innovation is important to society. The school will host speech and debate students from several school academies and other institutions in Southern California.
“Heideman students are invited to participate in the Original Narrative category with the topic of ‘Innovation’ and the opportunity to explore how they are in charge of their education and come to school with a ready-to-learn mindset,” said community liaison Veronica Rivas, who is coordinating the tournament. “The students will present an original personal story that reflects their ideas on innovation and how they apply it to daily school life.”
Awards ceremonies will be held at 12:30 and 5:45 p.m. Family, friends, and the public are invited to attend the event. For more information, call Heideman School at (714) 730-7521.
