Tustin High School senior Madison Cobb recently attended the 2019 National Council on Education for the Ceramic Arts Conference in Minneapolis, Minnesota, as one of the artists on display. Her piece entitled “Coyote” was part of a large exhibition of artwork by students around the United States. Out of 1,200 artwork submissions, 150 pieces were selected and displayed. During the conference, Madison was awarded an honorable mention for her tremendous work. Madison says the idea for the clay sculpture “Coyote” came to her in a science class while they were studying the bones of animals. Madison has created dozens of artworks and, most recently, a crocodile that was on display in the Tustin High Library during the school’s art showcase. She will also be part of the Tustin Area Council for Fine ArtsStudent Art Invitational today and Saturday from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Clifton C. Miller Community Center, 300 Centennial Way in Tustin. The art show will feature amazing works from TUSD middle and high school students. Howl about that!
